How to get your student identification card

After completing your enrolment, log in to  to upload a passport-style photo. You’ll be asked to choose your preferred campus for collecting your physical ID card.

Student ID card

Once your photo is verified, you’ll receive a notification that your virtual student ID card is available. You can access it via the ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½app app, it can be used to confirm your status as a student and borrow library books. 

To collect your physical student ID card, follow the instructions provided in your confirmation email after your photo is approved. 

  • Hawthorn campus: Scan the QR code (emailed to you) at the ID kiosk on Level 1 of the Library. 
  • Croydon and Wantirna campuses: Visit Student HQ in the Library to collect your card. 
     

Photo guidelines

Photos should be in a similar style to passport photos (e.g. not too small, taken front-on with an appropriate background). If your photo has been edited, filtered AI generated or not suitable, it may be rejected. Check the  for assistance.

Head coverings in photos

Head coverings may be worn in photos for religious reasons. For your photo to be approved, both edges of your face must be clearly visible, as well as from the bottom of your chin to the top of your forehead.

Online access and your student login

Once you’ve enrolled with us, the Student Login page will be the home base for all your university needs. You can:

  • make changes to your enrolment
  • update your study plan
  • access your fee statements
  • check your student email
  • view your assignment and exam results.


Your username is your student ID number. You can use the  to create or reset your password.

Using your student ID card

Your student ID card can be used to borrow books from the library – simply scan you physical or vitual card at a self-service borrowing station. It can also be used to access the LateLab and for photocopying services.

You can access a number of discounts and concessions with your student ID card. Eligible students are entitled to concession fares on board all train, tram and bus services with a PTV Tertiary Student ID. 

You will require a physical ID card to gain 24-hour access to buildings on campus. For this reason, please contact StudentHQ to cancel your card if it is lost or stolen.

Swipe-card access: Hawthorn campus

Some spaces may have added security including swipe-card access using your Student ID. Some buildings and rooms may only need swipe-card access outside of business hours and on public holidays.

How to replace your student ID card

StudentHQ can replace lost, stolen or damaged student ID cards. A replacement fee may apply.

Are you an Open Universities Australia student?

Open Universities Australia (OUA) does not issue student ID cards. ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½app does, however, issue ID cards to OUA students. Once your enrolment is completed you may request a student ID card, without a photo, and it will be mailed to you.

If you're studying through ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½app Online,  to get your student ID card. A student ID card, without a photo, will be sent by mail when your enrolment has been completed.
